KIM’S STORY
It was after retiring from my corporate job that I returned to my love of design. Now, I go wherever my clients need me – designing a full-scale project, staging a vacant home, refreshing a single room, or just providing shopping advice. I allow myself to be guided by my instinct to create a space that is truly special.
Design is one of the most fascinating arts to ever exist. Some people just have “an eye for design” naturally. I feel that I am one of the lucky ones. On the flip side, I envy people who are mechanically inclined. I am not.
I strive for three things in design – color, balance, and texture. Color sets the mood, creates and adds visual interest. Balance provides symmetry in a design and can also provide a sense of calmness for the viewer. And last, texture can have a significant impact on the overall look and feel of a space. All design elements are important to evoke the right feeling in a space, but I think these three are most essential.
